How IsleConnect collects, uses and stores personal data.
Who we are
IsleConnect is a visitor-experience project operated by David Grannum, trading as IsleConnect, based on the Isle of Wight. We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page. We are not connected with any similarly named limited company.

What we collect
When you contact us. Your name, email address, what you run or hold, and whatever you choose to write in your message. We use this only to reply to you and to discuss working together.
When you use the site. At present, nothing. No usage or analytics data is sent anywhere, because we have not switched any measurement on: the site carries no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, and no profiling cookies, and it transmits no record of the pages you open.
We intend to measure how our stories are used — which stories are opened, whether a visitor continues to a second one, whether directions to a nearby venue are requested. Those would be counts of events, not profiles of people. None of it is happening yet, and we will update this notice before it does rather than afterwards.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, special category data — health, beliefs, or anything of that kind. Please don't send it to us.
Why we are allowed to hold it
For enquiries, our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have contacted us and expect a reply, and answering you is the whole point. Where we send anything beyond a direct reply, we ask for consent first, and you can withdraw it at any time.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to two years from the last contact, then deleted. There is currently no usage measurement to retain.
Who else sees it
Our email and hosting providers process data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell personal data. We do not pass enquiries to partner venues unless you ask us to.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email david@isleconnect.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and writes nothing to your device. If that changes, we will ask you before any non-essential storage is used, and this notice will say so first.
Changes
If this notice changes we will update the review date at the top of the page.
